News- 4/11/08

Hello everyone! We still only have 11 pieces for the quilt! Everyone, please submit a piece even if it is just a clip from one of your larger pics (please?) We'll get the pieces and put them together over the weekend and try to get the quilt up by Monday.

News- 3/26/08

OK everyone! The club's birthday is in March 28th, so we're going to try to do the birthday quilt project again for the club's third birthday! So here's the criteria:

-Make a small picture (100*100 pixels) of course only in red, black
and white, and send it to the club. We'll put them all together and
make a birthday quilt!

-The theme of the pictures can be anything. (Birthday, or the number three for anyone who does need something to work from). And if you don't have enough time, you can even cut a piece out of one of your fullsized pics.


Since we're late in announcing it, we'll take pics up April 11th and we'll just have a late birthday quilt (better late than never!) So please send your entries via note (labeled something like 3 yr birthday or birthday quilt) with a link to your pic (or pics) and we'll put it together!

News 12/31/07

After all that fuss, there aren't even any pics by banned members in our gallery! But from now on we'll know that pics by banned members will be deleted. So that's the end of that.

News- 12/18/07

We've had time for feedback and it seems most members decided it would be safer to delete the pics of banned members. So this is what I was thinking we could do: I'll go through the gallery and first put all the deviations by banned members in scraps (with a message they're from banned members). Then I'll announce that these pics are in scraps in a journal. I'll leave them there for a month and then delete them (so everyone has a chance to see them before they're gone). Does that sound OK to everyone?

News- 12/5/07

Hello everyone! Over the time this club has been open we've had members banned. Since we can't ask why they were banned, an admin had suggested we delete pics in our gallery by these members (since if they were stolen, we'd be held responsible and be banned ourselves). However, I'd feel really bad for deleting our members pics, even if they are banned! So this is what I was thinking- we could just put these pics in our scraps and say they're by a banned member. What do you all think? (Should we just delete them or put them into scraps?) We'll decide after we get some thoughts from everyone!

Hello everyone! We're going to have our first collab contest with another club! It's going to be with the ~Calarasi-club and it's themed on hometown transportation. For details, see the contests page [link]

The winner from our club (or whomever got closest to winning) will get the slot of featured deviation.

I think that we'll start the next contest in the middle of next month- and the last poll showed many members wanted a conceptual theme. So here are the conceptual themes some members suggested:

trinity
scale and proportion
value and texture
own versions of Snow White
important dates
water day
saving animals

If anyone would like to add any other ideas, go ahead and comment- then we'll put up a poll and vote to decide the next theme.
